Two Types of Basketball Courts
As Kaslen Textiles and New point Fabric president, David Raminfard sources clothing from local and global textile trade shows. He has served as a Nessah Cultural and Educational Center member for more than 30 years. Outside of work, David Raminfard plays basketball with his friends frequently.
The basketball game dates back to 1891, when James Naismith, a physical education teacher, invented it. For the game, the players used a college gym as a court.
As the most common basketball court, the hardwood court serves as the official arena for basketball federations and indoor games. In addition, constructors use hard maple, which may be a thick wood with fine fibers to make the hardwood court. As a basketball court that requires less maintenance, the hardwood has an exceptional durability level. Also, it is splinter resistant.
The Tartan court is absorbent, elastic, non-slippery, and durable. As a court made of EPDM and SRB rubber granules, it provides an extra floor grip and can come in several colors. In addition, constructors apply the SRB, a dough combined with granules, pigments, and PU binders, on the substratum. Meanwhile, they use the EPDM on the court’s surface, which serves as a mixture of PU, granule, and EPDM.
